Simple and solid messages for a nice utopia that nobody should resist to have as a future reference. Who said SOA is dead?

Good initial step and important as a guide to balance decisions against. Curious to see where this will lead and what will be done with the various comments around.

This is good. Now, I hope to see the Manifesto Group publish a more specific guide for each guiding principle listed here, and then add to it best practices for its practical implementation. It could turn out to be the COBIT of SOA.

Finally. I have been working on a similar manifesto for years. I embrace the vision of this manifesto and will continue to drive its very foundational thoughts within the business and architecture communities.

There are a number of important guiding principles listed in the manifesto, however the one that I am particularly pleased about is "Verify that services satisfy business requirements and goals.". I feel this is an important step forward in the evolution of software development in general, not just SOA.
